With the nights drawing in and temperatures noticeably falling, it is an ideal time to get office heating systems serviced and fit to face another winter.

As part of Greenway’s Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) service, we recently attended a prestigious buildings boiler plant for a client in Reading International Business Park to undertake essential servicing and compliance certification.

Our Gas Safe engineers stripped down the units to inspect, test and clean the main internal components to ensure they were fit for purpose with no noticeable defects. Further examinations were carried out on the pipework, flues and ventilation looking for any signs of corrosion, leaks and general wear and tear. All operating levels were checked to ensure the boilers were functioning within the required standards, before being refitted, the housings cleaned down and put back in service. All the necessary paperwork was completed for the client to ensure continued compliance for the boilers.

Regular servicing will prolong and sometimes extend the life of a boiler as well as maximise its performance through its lifecycle, keeping energy costs down, minimising breakdowns and keeping an eye on its carbon monoxide production. It also provides peace of mind that the system is running efficiently and ensures compliance with UK commercial boiler regulations.

In accordance with current health and safety practices, our engineers strictly complied with social distancing and hygiene procedures at all times. All working surfaces were thoroughly wiped down and sanitised, and the boiler plant left in an immaculate condition. The plant is due to be serviced again at the same time next year.
